Welcome Home!

Wednesday with the Sunnyside Guests

Today's main walk for our guests was around Hundred Acre Wood and Carlton Forest, this time with Donna and Rita.

A final balcony selfie on our last morning.

Ciao Sorrento!

Tuesday in Sorrento

Yesterday was a day for packing.  Sadly it also rained rather heavily!

We wandered into town again and got caught in a storm.

Once it had all passed, we had a lovely meal in the evening at the purple restaurant where we got a few extra things like limoncello ice-cream!

Looks suspiciously like Wiener Schnitzel mit Pommes und Salat to me!

Tuesday at the Sunnyside Hotel and Spa

No photos from today's activities - sorry.

Our resident guest had her usual early morning walk followed by a modest breakfast and then her morning was spent in snoozing and occasional security sweeps and barks when a fly scratched its leg.

At lunchtime we collected our day guest from her hotel and set off for Whitwell Wood for the circuit where both guests had an enjoyable walk.

It was a glorious day from first light till dark and around 23 degrees.  After our main walk it was time for a spot of tea and some more snoozing on and off as the evening went on.

There was the odd rope bone fight and even towel fight before the day ended with a spell resting on the big bed where the old chap normally sleeps before our resident guest headed off to her own room nearby.

Monday at the Hotel

Our resident guest had her usual early morning walk and then there was a good deal of snoozing after that.

Around midday we went to collect her Spanish cousin and then went for an extended walk around Hundred Acre Wood and Carlton Forest (sorry, the only photos are blurred as the dogs were running round too fast!)

In the evening the two guests (one resident and one day guest) went to Clumber Park (after those nasty people who demand money had gone home) and a good time was had by all!

"I found my own ruins", says Pepper.  "And I didn't need to go to Romany Land!"

Reminds me of that faked photo of the Loch Ness Monster

"I hope you like my new boots", says Pepper.  " I got them right at the end of my walk.  What's so lovely about them is that they're washable!"

The sticks get bigger with every photo

Monday - Herculaneum

Today we went to Herculaneum.  It's more intact than Pompeii as it was covered in lava rather than falling ash.

We took the graffiti train again to get there.  It was, in some ways, much more impressive than Pompeii, due to the amount of artwork and stuff like the wooden supports which have survived.

Guess that some sort of stock check is happening here - perhaps he can't see over his stomach!

To think these were all individual people leading their own individually complicated lives and oblivious as to what was to befall them out of the blue

Is this another dodgy depiction? The man towards the right seems to be brandishing his weapon

Not sure what this can be.  Can't think it's a bar stool!

What beautiful lettering!  Guess they used a laser cutter!

Oh no, not again.  Roman men certainly don't seem to have been very circumspect when it came to exposing themselves

We ended again in the purple restaurant, which supplies blankets if it's a bit chillier as the majority of the seating is outside.

The wine in Italy does seem to be very white!

Is that "Goat's Eye Ice Cream" on the left?

Welcome Home!
